The Ladies from the Crush trade helmets for Elf Hats!

The Connecticut Crush were honored to continue our annual tradition of assisting the
Blue Angels Foundation with their annual Holiday Toy Drive this year.  Several Crush players helped the
Blue Angels sort, package and distribute toys for over 150 different families.   "Walking into the warehouse
just full of toys, books, bikes....it was awesome" said #70 Kelly Woodard.  The players spent the week before
the big event helping other volunteers in sorting through and selecting the toys based on wish lists the
kids and their parents or workers provided. Once this task was completed Santas elves took over until
the day of the event.
On December 15th more players got together with other great volunteers(Headed by the Crush's own
Team Photographer and Manchester Policeman, Bernie Hallums) for a fun filled day at the Illium school
in Manchester.  Families came by invitation and enjoyed lunch, arts and crafts, a DJ and an awesome clown.
The joint got jumpin' when the Crush players kicked up the entertainment by leading the kids and their
parents in a variety of dances such as the Cha-Cha Slide and the Hokey Pokey until the Big Guy himself
made his entrance.  The Crush were thrilled to share the stage with Santa and local newswoman
Jessica Schneider from Channel3/CBS as the toys were given to the families and Santa had his picture
taken with all the great families.

As this year comes to a close, The Crush are honored to be able to give back to our community
by having the oppurtunity to get involved in such great activities.  Thank you to the Blue Angels Foundation
and Bernie Hallums for this great event.  Shots from the events are below, ENJOY!
